    Arrival in Kathmandu & Expedition Briefing

  2. Day 2

    Kathmandu → Lukla → Phakding

    Take an early morning flight towards Lukla, one of the world's most spectacular mountain airports. After meeting the trekking support team, begin the expedition through traditional Sherpa villages, prayer stones and Himalayan landscapes before reaching Phakding beside the Dudh Koshi River.

    Phakding → Namche Bazaar

    Trek alongside the Dudh Koshi River, crossing several spectacular suspension bridges and passing through beautiful Himalayan villages. Enter Sagarmatha National Park and begin the challenging ascent towards Namche Bazaar, the vibrant commercial and cultural centre of the Khumbu region.

    Namche Bazaar Acclimatization Day

    Spend an essential acclimatization day in Namche Bazaar. Take a gradual hike towards the Everest View Hotel for spectacular panoramic views of Mount Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse and Ama Dablam. Return to Namche and explore its cafes, markets and Sherpa culture.

    Namche Bazaar → Tengboche

    Continue along a spectacular mountain trail offering magnificent views of Everest, Lhotse and Ama Dablam. Descend towards the Dudh Koshi River before climbing through rhododendron forests to Tengboche, home to the famous Tengboche Monastery.

    Tengboche → Dingboche

    Descend through forests towards Deboche before crossing the Imja River. Continue through Pangboche village and gradually climb into the open alpine landscapes of Dingboche, surrounded by spectacular views of Ama Dablam and other Himalayan giants.

    Dingboche Acclimatization Day

    Spend another important acclimatization day in Dingboche. Take a gradual hike towards Nangkartshang Peak viewpoint for spectacular views of Makalu, Lhotse, Ama Dablam and the surrounding Himalayan ranges before returning to Dingboche for rest.

    Dingboche → Lobuche

    Trek through the wide Khumbu Valley towards Thukla and climb past the moving memorials dedicated to mountaineers who lost their lives in the Everest region. Continue towards Lobuche beneath towering Himalayan peaks and dramatic glacial landscapes.

    Lobuche → Gorak Shep → Everest Base Camp

    Begin one of the most anticipated days of the expedition. Trek across rocky glacial terrain to Gorak Shep before continuing towards Everest Base Camp at approximately 5,364 metres. Stand beneath the world's highest mountain and witness extraordinary views of the Khumbu Glacier and Khumbu Icefall before returning to Gorak Shep.

    Kala Patthar Sunrise → Pheriche

    Wake before dawn for the optional ascent to Kala Patthar, one of the finest viewpoints for close-up views of Mount Everest. Witness sunrise illuminating Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse and the surrounding peaks before descending to Gorak Shep for breakfast and continuing down to Pheriche.
